Happy super Belated Birthday!!
I realised i have not been blogging, and this post is exactly the number 101 post of my blog! very funny, that i have just exceeded a hundred posts since 2004...this is enough to justify the frequency of me blogging.lol. anyway, have been very busy lately and thus this post has been procrastinated for so long! plus, there is something seriously wrong with my hp cable that caused me much inconvenience when transferring the photos from my hp to my laptop.

alrite, this is a post which I am supposed to trace back to the 17th of Oct 2009, and it is dedicated to my dear shazhu. Happy belated 24th birthday! and Happy Belated 3rd anniversary! :))))))))))))))) we didnt realli have a celebration dinner, cause Mr Ang was/is having a throat discomfort, thus we just had a simple dinner at MOS burger the day before his actual bday....


a thing to note: his birthday fell on Deepavali... which reminded me of our 1st date~it was on Deepavali too... what a coincidence~haha anyway was kept very very busy for the whole of that friday, because i was trying to bake a cheesecake for him. made a mess in the kitchen and spent quite some time clearing up, apart from the time spent on actual preparation process. unlike Jan, this was my 1st time baking a cake!! so i was quite afraid that i might fail, and i was really in distress when my oreo cookie crust was burnt! =(



yeah, by right my cheesecake is supposed to have a layer of oreo crust beneath, so in the end my cheesecake was "naked". lol. here's my cheesecake inside the oven. i made some small cup-cheesecakes for my family as well, so i bake them all tgth.....

 i was crossing my fingers in the hope that my oreo cheesecake would not have the same terrible fate as my oreo cookie crust

but~~~~ it was well-done!... at least i think so, for a first-timer =P after that, i melted some chocolate chips with heavy whipping cream, and spread the layer of chocolate cream on the cheesecake, and added some strawberries for topping. so ta-dah! it became like this:
this pic was taken before i put it into the fridge. the thing is, i forgot to take a pic of the cake after it was chilled inside the fridge overnight, so u cant see the before-and-after effect. but chilling realli helps to make your cake look nicer and more presentable, as the layer of chocolate cream will not look smudgy. then i put it side a cake box and tie the box with a ribbon, trying my best to make the cake look like it was from a bakery.
looks identical right? after that i dug out some left-over birthday candles which we have collected in the past and found a cake-cutting knife in the cupboard. so i wrap them in a plastic bag and scotch-taped it on the top of the cake box! Idea, right? hahaha... so here's my Imitation Confectionery Oreo Cheesecake!
PLUS, i put the entire project inside a huge Swee Heng plastic bag, which was meant for birthday cakes!!!

hahah~carried the whole thing to Mr Ang's house, and when he saw it he still asked me why i bought a birthday cake, and he said there wasnt a need. when i reached his house, his parents thought that the cake was from Swee Heng as well, and i was trying to hide the secret by controlling myself not to let the cat out of the bag. his mum even opened the box and looked at the cake and thought that it was expensive, so she told me that I dont have to buy. but i just say never mind la, its not expensive at all....haha, indeed, home-made ones isnt as expensive as the ones bakeries are selling.

i was hoping that they will tell me the truth pertaining to the cake's standard, so i didnt tell them the secret at all. i thought that the cake was a big present to shazhu, but he didnt even wait for me to sing a birthday song for him, then he blew the candles already! >.<|| and when he cut the cake, he still ask me why the cake is so hard, so difficult to cut! i heart almost skipped a beat la! i was afraid that when they eat the cake, they think that the cake taste bad. but in the end, shazhu and his mum said that the "swee heng's cake" tasted not bad, and i was like "phew! what a relief!". had wanted shazhu's dad to try the cake, but he didnt eat his share as he was feelin full after the dinner. it was only after the entire day when shazhu sent me home, then i told him that i baked the cake on my own. and that pig/cow! didnt believe me at first and replied me that he was the one who baked the mooncakes which he had gave my family the other day!! >.<

i had to repeat several times that the cake was my work and persuaded him that there are little flaws such as there was no "Happy Birthday" mark because it wasnt bought from a bakery. haha then he believed me~~ lol. he thought i was kept very busy so i didnt have the time to prepare his present, then i told him i was kept very busy because i spent alot of time preparing his presents. hahaha! so anyway, the whole day spelled my Imitation Confectionery Oreo Cheesecake a success! :)))))))))

prepared other presents for him as well, such as a snow globe!

 it was my first time doing a snow globe too.....actually there are alot of ready-made snow globes sold in gift shops such as precious moments and hallmark, and they are selling them at a rather low price. i spent quite alot of time trying to find the suitable materials and doing online research to make sure that the water wont leak out from the globe....and i spent a few days trying out almost all gift shops in the entire singapore to find a figurine small enough to fit into a bottle. and i found it! finally! a cute me-to-you bear!



plus, i bought a philosophy book for him from open trolley, which i thought was rather important for academic use. BUT, my guess was incorrect cos it wasnt the one that he had wanted. =( hopefully he would read it for my sake. hahaha.

and last but not least, he gave me a bouquet of very pretty handmade origami flowers for our 3rd anniversary! thank you, shazhu! was surprised as he seemed so caught up in his work that i didnt even hope that he will prepare something for me on this day. haha. thank you thank you very very much!! :)))))))))))))))))))

i realli hope that he likes all my presents also leh, cos i realli put in alot of time and effort to make him happy.

see~~ i so good to u hor, u better treat me nice nice now and in the future kz!~ hahaha
