Congratssss!
I wanna say " congratulations!" to 3 ppl today!

Firstly, its my shazhu! Congratulations!! he got the SPH Lim Kim San Memorial Scholarship!!! which means for the rest of his tuition fee, it will be subsidised by SPH! haha am really really proud of you! :))) your efforts and perseverence for the previous applications are not in vain! although its only 1 year, but its better than nothing right! Congrats!! well he is going to perform with the other scholarship holders during the ceremony on 30th july, and I am going to watch him perform! :))
think he is going to perform a v short skit with the others, and he is going to present a small gift to his parents on stage at the ceremony too! haha well, I am helping him to make the gift at this moment, cos his art work is really CMI ( haha, not tt mine is v good, but at least better than him.lol.)

Secondly, its my brother!! His convocation was just over last saturday! haha...well its not like its a big deal, because he graduated 2 months ago...the thing to be happy about is that he found a job! in nus, as a researcher! at least he found a job during these hard times, at least my parents don't have to worry about him...haha well I haven take any pics with my bro in his academic dress yet (he bought the entire suit home! because the difference between rental and buying is just a teeny bit) , I didnt even attend his convocation! lol...nus only allow 2 tickets per graduating student for the ceremony..the rest of the family have to sit outside the cultural hall to wait for the convocation to end...then the buffet will start! its just like the first day of school during orientation ( i was there on the first day in ntu, but some of my friends skipped the ceremony part) haha wells, i dont wan to spend 2 hours sitting outside cultural hall so i didnt go.. haha m i a bad sister? hope not... ;P

Thirdly, its to my beloved XY! She just received the Eu Yan Sang Scholarship!! its such an honour cos there are only 2 ppl in her faculty who got it! and she is one of them! and her beijing trip for 2 years will be fully subsidised by Eu Yan Sang and when she graduates, her career as a chinese physician will be guaranteed! Congrats!! :)))) we are all really really proud of you, gal!*muacks* although this gal here is coping with her fyp right now, i m sure she can do it and she will do her best in her proj... lets jiayou for fyp tgth kz! :D

haha well, there are so many things that had been going on for me and i find myself slacking more and more in my fyp reseach. opps! i am supposed to meet ahma next tues and i stil haven read half of whatever that i have photocopied. i realised that i have been copying and copying and copying, that made my research v mundane and i just dont feel like reading whatever that i have photocopied. haha! should motivate myself somehow, soon...

anyway had a family dinner last friday, tgth with my youngest aunt and uncle( my 小姑 and 小姑丈). its actually a farewell dinner for them because they will be out of town for the next 1 to 2 years, which means the wont be coming back for chinese new year too. sha zhu went with us for the dinner too, since he wont be able to meet them for the next chinese new year. haha i wanted him to meet them because they are really one of the nicest ppl around. i like to interact with them, learn about what they have experienced overseas, as they have been to so many countries, like Ghana( in africa), Germany, France, Indonesia, and other countries which singaporeans wont usually go for a holiday. because they went to these places for missionary purposes for their church. so, they are missionaries, to be exact.

so we had dinner at Dian Xiao Er again, cos the adults really like the food over there and wanted to try the it again. well, the restaurant at causeway point is really quite small and we are back to sitting at the same table as that time during father's day celebration. 4 ppl at that time become 7 ppl this time round, imagine the cram that we are having during dinner! so many plates of food, so many utensils and so many ppl sitting around the small, pathetic table, which is probably only the size of my study table! in the end, my uncle knocked over his glass of barley by accident! haha luckily the table was kind of dented in the middle, so the barley didnt flow out at all! what a miracle! >_<

my uncle and aunt told us about their experiences overseas, especially africa. one of which was that they were held at gunpoint in Ghana, by some african hooligans who were eyeing on their valuables and had lots of bullets and machine guns hanging around themselves and had shotguns in their hands! and they were pointing theirs guns at my uncle's head! how freakingly terrifying! =S my uncle told them to just take whatever they wan but spare them their lives. so bags, hps, cameras and wallets were yanked away from them...luckily my uncle and aunt were all in one piece! thank god... and another scary thing abt africa was that malaria spreads like common flu, and many foreigners didnt know that they were infected by malaria and they just died a few days ltr..scary!! although my uncle and aunt kena alot of mosquitoe bites, but luckily they were not infected... was thinking, if God really exists in this world, please please protect them ok..they are realli one of the nicest ppl on earth... fortunately the angels' next destination is Hamburg, Germany. at least the standard of living is higher and crime rate is lower over there... at least there wont be hooligans walking around carrying machine guns and bullets, unless there are terrorists over there... their flight is next wed, and i m gonna wish them bon voyage next wk! :)

anyway just registered my subjects last thurs, and most prob i will be taking 3 mods only, namely hc362 overseas chinese and china, malay level 1 and fundamental of management for bus PE... hmm but i wanna change my malay tut grp first thing when add-drop period starts, cos i realised i registered wrongly eh.. shld have register it on the monday and wednesday slot, so that i can have absolute free days on thurs and fri!! woohoo tt will make my wkend superrrrrr longggggg!! yippie! haha hopefully i can change my slot successfully, cos i don wan to go back to sch 4 days in a wk when i m only taking 3 mods! anyway wanna have time to eat lunch with my gals on monday too, aft my malay lesson... our time table will be quite different, with like only one or two common mods, and there will be less chance for us to meet during the last sem of yr 4.. but anyway, for next sem, i got jx to pei me for 362, and most prob minmin too, cos she is goin to drop her 310 when i told her who-ever is goin to teach that mod, and she almost fainted. lol. haha maybe its my fault cos i told her only after she had registered. anyway will be taking the same mod and grp as ling ling, ay and jx for the bus mod... ling ling and ay will be taking 433 which i have taken before, and a sci pe which i have alrd fulfilled, so the bus mod will be my only common lesson with them.

had a little msn-chat with them after our registeration. initially we were discussing abt what we registered, but it ended up in a debate on who can cook and who can't. haha and lingling is always the one losing out in this debate cos the rest of us can cook somewhat and somehow. lol.

haha talkin abt cooking, was arranging my pics when i was transferring photos from my hp to my laptop, and i realised i have a series of pics taken frm the few cooking sessions with sha zhu during the holidays. here are some pics of them!

this is my okonomiyaki~japanese pizza! this is the grilled type, the type u find at pasat malam, not the tempura type found in sakae and nihon mura.. i prefer grilling cos its nt so oily and thus, healthier... lol. anyway, tt hand is not mine! >.<

our first try for baked teriyaki shitake mushrooms!! i wanted to try something like the ones that we ate at nihon mura, but it turn out not as dry as theirs..but we stil love them anyway! i love mushrooms!! :)))))

and mr ang looks like he is posing for an advertisement for the mushrooms! funny expression, haha!

what Chef Ang did:
1. wash mushrooms thoroughly and cut off the stems
2. marinate them in teriyaki sauce for 15-20min
3. sprinkle some black pepper powder on them.( i got my black pepper from Mac, lol)
4. arrange them face-up and place the plate into the conventional oven. baked for 15min, at 190 degree celsius.
5. there u go! baked teriyaki shitake mushrooms! :)

we love them so much that we cook another plate to eat..^^ haha we tried for 20 min this time round at 200 degree celsius so that it can be drier, but it turns out shrinking in size! lol nevertheless, they are still yummy!

this is another of our cooking session. basically, its my cooking session, cos mr ang used his eye and mouth power only >.<>

haha this is my chicken and mushroom pasta! using penne as my pasta, cos i finished the spaghetti at home le... it looks abit out of place cos its an italian dish placed on a chinese plate... lol. haha tis is the only kind of plate i have at home la!

... and some crazy customer is trying to eat the pasta without using his utensils! >_<
talking about food is making me hungry! BUT i realli have to go on a DIET! i have a tummy alrd la! i have been eating alot during the holidays, but i did make a point to exercise regularly( trying my best). there is this garden behind my house, admiral garden to be exact, and i m forcing myself to run around the garden 2 rounds, at least 1-2 times a week. its a little shorter than 2.4 km i think, but i am alrd breathless after that 2 rounds and i dont think i can surmount that distance. haha...lazy me.. shall try my best and run 3 rounds instead, one of these days. argh and i seriously need to reduce my tummy! i wanna have the figure to wear pretty clothes since my youth is goin to end in 8 years time!

tell me how to get rid of my tummy please, anyone!
